HOME ORGANIZATION

My residential services include :

Organizing kitchens, closets, rooms, storage areas.  I will help you to determine what items you no longer need and how to create a storage space to utilize those items you do use frequently.  I will also show you how to get those keepsakes that have meaning to you out of the closet and showcase them so that you can actually see them.

Show you how to eliminate your paper clutter, sort your mail and avoid misplacing your bills and important papers.  I will customize your filing system so that you can retrieve items easily.

At our first appointment I will tour your space and determine where to begin.  I will then work with you hands-on to tackle your problem areas.  At this appointment we will discuss your priorities and I will then give you an assignment on what to do to get started.  This first consultation appointment may last from two hours to four hours, however, there is a two hour minimum booking time.  I will then devise a plan to meet your needs and will return to either discuss this plan for you to complete on your own or actually work with you hands-on to complete your project.  I ask that if you have children that you arrange childcare so we can commit our full attention to the project at hand.  If immediate results are your priority, booking a longer first appointment will benefit you.  I can work with you anywhere from two hours to eight hours per appointment.

If you are married or have a partner, its imperative that BOTH partners must have the desire to get organized and see the intrinsic need to bring order to your life.  Otherwise, you will spend valuable time "arguing" over what to keep and what to purge.  You must also realize that organization is HARD work - not only physically but emotionally.  It took you years to become cluttered and it will take more than a day to become uncluttered.  You may have projects in your home that you have had for years and plan to "one day" finish.  If so, and its been two years or longer since you touched it - chances are you never will.  You will also have sentimental items that you want to keep - we all do.  Reorganizing doesn't mean you must trash these items but you must really take a hard look at "why" you are keeping these items.  Did your Aunt Bessie give you a vase that you hate, but you stuck it in a closet anyway?  You can't bear to get rid of it because after all, Aunt Bessie did give it to you and she has long ago passed.  If you give it away won't that dishonor her?  If you don't like it and don't use it then why are you keeping it?
